Every time a camera appears, a new McKayla Bailey is born.

Little league action is hopping in Central Whidbey and intrepid photo man John Fisken has been bouncing around, snapping pics as he goes.

Abby Parker puts every last ounce of her heart and soul into the finish of the 800, setting a PR like a boss.

After Dalton Martin let loose with this throw, he turned green and ripped his shirt in half.

Skyler Lawrence reaches down deep and finds her inner groove, chucking the discus to a PR.

“Dalton rest now. Dalton want lemonade. Chop chop!!”

That little something extra.

It’s what every track and field athlete is looking for, and every cameraman.

A lot of Wolf athletes pictured here found that extra something Saturday, setting PRs and hitting big throws and quick times at the Olympic League championships.

Merrily clicking away, John Fisken also found that something special, and he was nice enough to let us gaze upon his work.

Here come the playoffs.

As the regular seasons begin to wind down, every one of the Coupeville High School spring sports teams is postseason-bound.

1A Olympic League rivals Port Townsend and Chimacum can’t say that, but CHS, the little school that could, has matched Klahowya by advancing girls’ tennis, boys’ soccer, baseball, track and softball to the next level of play.

Toss in golf, where Christine Fields is a one-woman Wolf wrecking crew, and Coupeville is 6-for-6.
