Eight of Coupeville’s 10 seniors gather for a group photo.

The team just got cut in half.

10 of 22 Coupeville High School football players on the season-ending roster are seniors, and played their final game Thursday night.

Three were in street clothes, while a fourth injured Wolf, Matt Hilborn, was missing as he rehabs in Hawaii.

But, active or not, all stood tall in their final spotlight moment.

Before they headed for the exit, the Wolf vets were honored for their play and their commitment to the program.

Right back at it.

Less than 24 hours after playing King’s Tuesday, the Coupeville High School volleyball squad was back on the floor Wednesday to face Sultan.

And right there, along with them, was travelin’ paparazzi to the stars John Fisken, who made it two nights in a row in Cow Town.

The pics above are courtesy him. To see everything he shot, pop over to:

Gavin Knoblich, ignoring pain from football injuries, carries the Wolf flag as he sprints around the court.

Eryn Wood (9), backed by Abby Meyers, smashes a return.

Line judge Michael Davidson overcomes his crippling shyness.

“Now, I am become Death, the destroyer of worlds!” Maya Toomey-Stout finds her moment of Zen seconds before caving in a foe’s face with a wicked spike.

“I said it’s in, and I AM … THE LAW!!”

Kylie Chernikoff enjoys her evening.

Taped up and ready to tango, Wolf senior Ashley Menges has been holding the line for four years.

Action to the right, action to the left, action everywhere.

Keeping busy Tuesday night, wanderin’ paparazzi John Fisken snapped pics of the action on the court during Coupeville’s volleyball matches, and off the floor as well.

The pics above, a mix of in-the-heat-of-the-moment snaps and sideline activity, are but a small portion of what he shot.

After four years as a stellar starter, Lindsey Roberts has left the pitch.

The games are done, but the sorting of the photos continues.

Over the course of a season, John Fisken (and a lot of parents) gift me with numerous pics, and not all get used before the final whistle sounds.

Today, we’re catching up on Coupeville High School girls soccer glossies, dropping in seven portraits and an action shot which haven’t previously seen the light of day.

Freshman Alana Mihill finds her moment of Zen Saturday before the start of the North Sound Conference cross country championships at Lakewood. (Photos by JohnsPhotos.net)

Surrounded by a pack of King’s runners, Mihill makes a stand as a lone Wolf.

South Whidbey’s girls finished 2nd on the day.

The Wolf boys explode off the starting line.

The postseason sprint begins.

Coupeville High School cross country began (hopefully) a three-week run through championship events with an appearance Saturday at the North Sound Conference meet at Lakewood High School.

Still to come are districts Oct. 27 at South Whidbey, and (possibly) state Nov. 3 in Pasco.

Saturday’s meet, which brought all three Island teams to the same location – Oak Harbor competed in the Wesco championships, while South Whidbey joined Coupeville in the NSC throw-down – also drew in wanderin’ paparazzi John Fisken.
