And they’re done.

Coupeville High School’s Class of 2015 officially graduated Friday, a class of top scholars and athletes and really impressive young women and men.

As they prepared for departure, one lone photographer, the plucky Shelli Trumbull, broke the pre-graduation media blackout (word is she snuck through a side door and hid under the bleachers, surviving for two days on stray popcorn left over from basketball season) and captured these exclusive behind-the-scenes pics.

Like the students she has documented over the years, she’s a champ.

They’re up!

Just in time for graduation, which will allow the 11 seniors who played on those teams to witness them on their final trip through the gym, league championship banners have been raised.

Both the Coupeville High School girls’ basketball and girls’ tennis teams went undefeated in 1A Olympic League play this year.

The titles were the first the school had won since 2002.

Playing key roles on both teams were members of the Class of 2015, with six seniors on each team.

Wynter Thorne was the lone Wolf senior to play on both teams (joined by junior McKenzie Bailey).

Monica Vidoni, Hailey Hammer, Kacie Kiel, Julia Myers and Madeline Strasburg joined Thorne on the hoops squad while Micky LeVine, Jacki Ginnings, Haleigh Deasy, Ana Luvera and Ivy Luvera also played for the netters.

CHS graduation is 6 PM tonight.

Tomorrow they graduate. Today, they rolled out, loud ‘n proud, one last time as a group.

Coupeville High School’s Class of 2015 hit the streets of Cow Town for the annual senior parade, and John Fisken was hanging around on a street corner when they passed, so we got these snappy pics.

And while not every Wolf senior is in these photos (it’s not that small of a school…), these nine portraits give you a good overview of the grads-to-be.

Successful in the classroom and on the athletic fields, they have acquitted themselves quite nicely.

Roll on’, ’15ers, roll on.

High school sports have returned.

The calendar has rolled into September and the first game of the 2014-2015 school year is mere days away.

You may not be ready to give up summer, but come Friday night, fall is here, at least in terms of athletics. And, while it probably won’t be foggy and rainy — don’t worry, that’s coming — the new season kicks off with a bang.

Island rival South Whidbey hits Cow Town for a 7 PM football game, with ownership of The Bucket on the line.

The Falcons boast a new head coach in former college vet Chris Tormey.

By his side will be former Wolf assistant coach Alex Heilig, who jumped programs after two years at CHS.

The game is now a non-conference affair, with Coupeville having left the 1A/2A Cascade Conference for the 1A Olympic League, but that will do little to detract from the emotion.

Wolf volleyball jumps into the fray the next day, attending a jamboree in Oak Harbor, while girls’ soccer hosts South Whidbey Tuesday, Aug. 9 and boys’ tennis travels to Archbishop Thomas Murphy Aug. 10.

While the netters are the last of Coupeville’s four fall sports teams to kick off their season, they will be the first to play an Olympic League contest.

That comes Aug. 18, when Klahowya comes to Whidbey.
