Makana Stone

The only moment all afternoon when rival runners were even in the same frame with speed demon Makana Stone. Seriously.

Dalton Martin

Dalton Martin dances the PR dance, launching the discus 161 feet, seven inches — three feet and two inches better than his previous top mark.

Through sun or rain, the cameraman is always there.

While the weather flip-flopped all day Saturday for the Coupeville High School track and field team as it competed at sub-districts in Bremerton, the show still went on.

Wanderin’ photo clicker John Fisken stayed warm by bouncing all around the stadium, seeking out photos both action-packed and intimate.

The nine snazzy pics above are courtesy him.

team

So serious…

Their skills are as explosive as their uniforms.

Clad in the bright green garb of the Venom, a fast-rising pack of softball sluggers is busy terrorizing rival teams on the diamond this spring.

Rolling to a 6-3 record, Central Whidbey Little League’s Juniors squad has drilled foes to a tasty 138-67 tune so far.

And, when they’re not scoring runs in huge heaps, they’re catching the attention of the paparazzi, as shown by the snappy pics above.

They come to us courtesy of the Diet Coke-fueled John Fisken, who made time in his busy schedule to wander out to the prairie Thursday night.

The curtain goes up tomorrow night.

The annual Mr. CHS pageant hits the stage Wednesday (7 PM) in the Coupeville High School PAC, and the dollar bills will (hopefully) rain down.

A fundraiser for the Class of 2016, the event will feature a who’s-who of Wolves taking the stage to show of their diverse talents and (possibly) rock a few frocks.

Every dollar is a vote, and the action promises to live up to previous years.

In the last hours before showtime, contestants worked with CHS cheer coach Cheridan Eck Tuesday to fine-tune their moves.

Along for the ride, camera in hand, was wanderin’ photo man John Fisken, who provides us with the classy pics seen above.

Their final moments played out in beautiful weather.

While the Coupeville High School boys’ soccer players were knocked out of the playoffs in a tight one-goal game Thursday, they at least didn’t endure the non-stop rain the Wolf girls did back in their fall finale.

Both CHS teams hosted their postseason tilts at Oak Harbor High School’s stadium, which makes life easy for travelin’ photo man John Fisken.

He swung by and snapped these pics for us (when he wasn’t taking photos of my moss-encrusted car).

The future is easy to see.

Clad in day-glo green uniforms, Central Whidbey Little League’s Juniors softball sluggers (AKA The Venom) stand out while playing on the prairie.

That makes the job for travelin’ photo man John Fisken just a wee bit easier.
