Sluggers swing into spring!!

Taking advantage of the suddenly-abundant sunshine, the Coupeville High School softball squad drilled visiting Port Townsend Friday, while the rays also helped wanderin’ photo man John Fisken focus his camera.

It was a special day.

Friday, Apr. 29, 2016 will go down as a milestone in Coupeville High School sports history, with the baseball squad clinching its first league title in 25 years.

A 10-0 win over visiting Port Townsend set the stage, and then Wolf moms popped the corks on bottles of sparkling cider, chasing their sons around in the celebration.

Along for the ride were photographers Sylvia Hurlburt and John Fisken, who captured some of the in-game and after-game action for us.

The wanderin’ photo man hit up Coupeville Monday and went a little wild, snapping pics at four different locations.

Coupeville Middle School’s track and field team makes its debut Wednesday, with a meet in Port Townsend, and the Wolves are deep into preparations.
