All the pertinent info in one easy-to-read flier.

Get in my mouth.

That’s what you’ll be saying Saturday, Oct. 22, if you get your tickets now for the annual Coupeville Booster Club Crab Feed.

The biggest fundraiser for the organization, it goes down at the Whidbey Island Nordic Lodge Hall (63 Jacobs Road in Coupeville).

I could say more, but you could also just scroll back up and look at the flier above and get all the info in half the time.

What I will say is the Booster Club is invaluable in supporting Wolf athletics at every level, something I’ve witnessed first-hand.

But to do the magic, which ranges from providing CHS coaches snappy, school-branded clothing to sponsoring scholarships to buying training equipment, the Booster Club needs a financial boost from Wolf supporters like you and me.

And hey, you’re getting crab. Kind of a win-win, if you ask me.

Ask not what your school can do for you, ask what you can do for your school.

Right now, especially if you’re a student or parent directly involved with the Coupeville High School Class of 2017, what you can do is volunteer a bit of your time for the good of everyone.

Volunteers are needed to help run concession stands at CHS football, volleyball and basketball games.

That’s important work, as the money raised from sales of things like hot dogs and candy directly benefit the next graduating class and their senior trip next spring.

The class is also in the market for anyone willing to help by donating supplies (water, sodas, candy, etc.) for concession use.

While they would love to have seniors and their parents involved as much as possible, there has also been the suggestion that juniors (Class of 2018) might step up to help out for Homecoming.

That’s Oct. 7 this year, with Port Townsend coming to town.

If juniors (and their parents) step up that night, it would allow senior parents a chance to enjoy their final Homecoming festivities outside of the concession stand.

Could be a nice new tradition to start.

If you’re interested in volunteering (for any or all games) or donating, contact Lisa Edlin at Littlelisa68@yahoo.com or 360-914-7810.

Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses of dirty cars yearning to breathe free, the wretched refuse of your teeming shore.

No auto is too far gone in the battle against dirt and despair.

Your saviors? The 2018 ASB officers from Coupeville High School, who are bringing their hoses and scrub brushes into battle this Sunday, Aug. 28.

The school leaders are holding a car wash at Whidbey Island Heritage Bank (401 N. Main) to help fund this year’s CHS prom.

Cars will be washed from 10 AM – 2 PM.

Two days until the biggest night of the summer.

People from near and far are expected to pack the Coupeville Rec Hall this Friday, Aug. 19 for an auction fundraiser to help an ailing Wolf hoops star.

Bennett Boyles, 11, finished three weeks of treatment for inoperable tumors on his brain stem and just returned home from Seattle, but he and his family still face a tough road ahead.

Bennett’s teachers at the Ebey Academy have been spearheading fundraisers all summer to help his mom, CHS grad Lucienne Rivera, a single mom of two who had to quit her job to take care of her son.

Friday night the Rec Hall will be jumping to the music of Jacobs Road, with more than 100 items up for auction.

Tickets are $10 and can be bought at the door (the rec hall is at 901 NW Alexander St., across the street from Christopher’s on Whidbey.)

The event, which runs from 6-10 PM, is open to all ages.

Beverages and hors d’oeuvres will be available, with wine and beer offered by donation thanks to Penn Cove Tap Room.

Some of the many items which will be up for auction:

Toby’s Tavern gift basket
Knead & Feed baking class
Framed, signed Steve Largent jersey
A party with Santa
A Seahawks tailgate party
Wine and cheese basket
A wheelbarrow full of beer
Photography sessions
A month of child care at Ebey Academy
Handyman hours
Oak Harbor Cinemas tickets
A fire pit with all the fixings

Save your car before it looks like mine.

Avoid the ravages of prairie dust and Penn Cove moisture and preserve that show room gloss, all while helping out Coupeville’s loudest and proudest.

Coupeville High School cheerleaders will be camped out at Windermere Realty Saturday (right across from the Elementary school on S. Main) from 12:00-2:00 holding a fundraiser car wash.

Swing by and let them take hose and scrub brush to your ride, and you’ll be helping the team’s veterans raise funds for their graduation night festivities.
