Basketball fans of all ages are hooked on Coupeville High School basketball.

From lil’ ones making their first visit to the gym, to elder statesmen with decades of time around the hardwood, the Wolf fan base is a sturdy one.

Capturing the tapestry of Cow Town faithful, wanderin’ photographer John Fisken delivers the pics seen above and below.

David Bowie sang about them, and I get major page hits whenever I feature them.

Babies, they make the world go round.

As someone who has worked in a respite care center and driven three nephews batty, there are times where I think about leaving the whole writing thing behind and transitioning to an infant-centric work environment.

Somewhere out there is a place which wants to pay me to hold babies while they (and probably me) take a nap.

Certainly would reduce the number of angst-riddled phone calls I get…

Anyway, until then, take a gander at the photo above and do with the information as you will.

Or take four minutes to appreciate a world where Mr. Bowie serenades his babe.

Their baby game is as strong as their hoops game.

A number of former Coupeville High School basketball players have added to Wolf Nation in the past couple of years, with some of the offspring featured in the pics seen above and below.

Little CHS uniforms for them all!

Avis Mitchell’s granddaughter knows grandma is a hoops legend. Pops wasn’t too bad, either.

Rhiannon Ellsworth’s daughter came out to support Suzan Georges’ daughter.

How can you say no to a cute lil’ baby?

You can’t.

Wolf Nation has a chance to help some of its own by joining a meal train for Joe and Reghan (Campbell) Rojas as they celebrate a happy ending to a dangerous situation.

The Coupeville grads, who both hail from families with deep local roots, have added a third son to the clan, but his arrival came with unexpected difficulty.

Reghan experienced a uterine rupture during labor, and the complications caused by that kept their newest child in the intensive care unit for a week.

To the delight of all, lil’ Bear Manuel Rojas got stronger with each day and is now home with his parents and two older brothers.

Bear, who checked in at 21 inches and a healthy nine pounds, eight ounces, gets his middle name from grandpa Manny Rojas, who played multiple sports for CHS back in the day.

CHS girls hoops coach David King (left) offers Whidbey News-Times Sports Editor Jim Waller tips on his jump shot.

Wolf cheerleader Kaley Grigsby enjoys her evening.

Four shooting stars momentarily sitting still – l to r, it’s Koa Davison, Derek Leyva, Natalie Hollrigel and Sarah Wright.

Defensive dynamo Tia Wurzrainer replenishes her body’s nutrients after a night of terrorizing her foes on the hardwood.

Heidi Meyers, a hot second away from breaking free and dropping the greatest flute version of “Welcome to the Jungle” you’ve ever heard.

Sherry Roberts, forever keeping an extra eye in the back of her head to monitor lil’ brother Danny Bonacci, in case shenanigans break out.

Volleyball stars (l to r) Emma Smith, Maya Toomey-Stout and Ashley Menges, the first people to ever make Coupeville’s bleachers look semi-comfortable.

Sometimes John Fisken is almost too productive.

Almost. I said almost.

Whidbey’s top-ranked paparazzi gave me so many glossy pics the first time he hit a Coupeville High School basketball doubleheader last week, I wasn’t able to use all the side pics immediately.

So, here you go, a few days down the road, some more snappy pix capturing Wolf fans, the band, cheerleaders and cute babies.

Always with the cute babies, cause page views.

Probably should have started a blog called cutebabies.com and not Coupeville Sports back in 2012…
