Drills…

And more drills.

With a year of middle school play under their belt, the 8th graders are wise old veterans.

The countdown begins.

Coupeville Middle School volleyball players are hard at work, running drills and learning new skills, as they heads towards their first match.

Play begins Sept. 20, with a road trip to Sequim, while the Wolves home debut is set for Sept. 28.

CMS has five home matches this season, with play set to tip-off at 3:15 PM each time:

Sept. 28 — Stevens
Oct. 2 — Forks
Oct. 9 — Sequim
Oct. 23 — Chimacum
Oct. 25 — Port Townsend

While we’re waiting for competition to begin, 7th grade co-coach Kimberly Bepler provides us with a glimpse inside the gym with the photos above.

Rackets at the ready, the Wolf tennis team is intent on winning a third-straight league title.

The JV baseball team is ready to swing for the fences.

The pics seen above are courtesy him.

As the various Wolf teams wade into action starting this Saturday (weather permitting), we’ll have much more here on Coupeville Sports.

But to see every Fisken pic and buy some (purchases fund college scholarships for CHS student/athletes), keep an eye on:

Coupeville harriers Danny Conlisk and Henry Wynn appear in the official South Whidbey team photo.

Teamwork wins out in the end.

This year’s South Whidbey High School cross country team photo features an unexpected bit of red and black.

The Falcons decided to include Coupeville runners Henry Wynn and Danny Conlisk — who trained and traveled with them since CHS doesn’t have a harrier program of its own — in the official team pic.

So, solid proof Island rivals can work together in photographic harmony.
